Project Overview

50 West 66th Street, designed by Snøhetta and SLCE Architects for Extell Development, rises 70 stories on a 15,000-square-foot parcel bordered by a three-story landmark brick building, an 11-story framed building, and a 26-story residential tower. The site’s tight context and subsurface conditions meant excavation could not move forward without careful coordination and control. FNA redesigned the Support of Excavation (SOE), coordinated New York City Transit (NYCT) submissions, and inspected every critical stage to support a buildable solution in a constrained urban setting.
