FNA uses geotechnical sensors to gather specific solid water levels, deformation, stress state, and other critical data required for sufficient structural monitoring. Our geotech instruments include:
- Piezometric sensors: These geometric sensors are a cost-effective way to collect automated or manual readings of soil water levels. Vibrating wire piezometers provide long-term accuracy and performance in measuring water pressure in demanding environments.
- Interstitial pressure cells (IPC): IPCs are the ideal geotech instrument for gathering vital soil behavior data at predetermined depths.
- Borehole extensometers: These geotechnical monitoring systems detect millimetric measurements of deformations in ground layers in comparison to a borehole’s axis.
- Borehole inclinometers: FNA uses inclinometers in soil or foundations to gauge lateral deformations below ground within millimetric accuracy.
- Embankment compaction meters: This is a general term for various geotech instruments used to measure embankment settlement.
- Earth pressure cells: Also known as total pressure cells, earth pressure cells are a geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring system used for observing the total pressure of earth-fill dams and embankments at dig sites. FNA can also use them at a structure and excavation wall’s interface.
- Tilt sensors: Tilt sensors are among the essential geotechnical sensors for ensuring the safety of a site. FNA uses them to detect angle changes compared to a preset control state and provide real-time alerts to unsafe conditions.
